Great location and all the comforts you could hope for in this great town. We'll be going back sometime for sure. Location allowed easy walking access to all the colonial Williamsburg sites and sounds. Nice breakfast to start the day. Clean and comfortable.

If you are in Williamsburg, VA to visit William & Mary and sightsee in Colonial Williamsburg, the location cannot be beat. This B&B is within very short walking distance of the W&M campus (100 feet) and Colonial Williamsburg (plus it is next door to a coffee and wine bar). We stayed in the Restoration Suite, which separates into two separate bedrooms. The room and beds were comfortable and clean. Our room had its own thermostat which is a big plus to me, so we could adjust the temperature to our preferred comfort level. The staff is efficient and friendly.

Our first trip to Williamsburg! Had a great time! The Inn was top notch and located downtown, a block from the beginning of the historical area and across the street from William & Mary College. The owners were very helpful and made you feel at home. Would definitely recommend!

The Fife & Drum offers privacy and great accommodations, while being within easy walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg's attractions. We've stayed in many of accommodations are around Colonial Williamsburg, including the colonial houses, and Fife & Drum offered the best. Billy, the owner, was great and his staff was excellent. The rooms, especially the Restoration Room, were great. We would most definitely stay there again.

"Beautiful Inn in a perfect location"

My husband and I chose the Fife & Drum Inn for our anniversary trip (and the first trip without kids in two years!) because of the location - it is perfectly centrally located to all of the fantastic restaurants and shops in Merchant Square and the historic district. We parked our car and didn't move it for the whole trip - everything was within walking distance! The inn is charming and our room (The Cedars) was beautiful. The common area was nicely decorated and always had a selection of snacks (including homemade cookies) and tea and lemonade always available - plus it had a selection of daily newspapers if you were interested and many travel magazines and menus from local businesses. The staff is amazing - we dealt most often with Rhonda and she was excellent. She had great recommendations for dinners and helped us plan some of our sightseeing (since the extreme heat had caused us to alter our original plans). Parking is at the end of the block and SO EASY. We had no problem carrying our suitcases from the car to the hotel. We could see the car from our room so we didn't worry about it all week. There is a steep set of stairs in enter the hotel (it's entirely on the second floor) which can be daunting after a long day of sightseeing but the rooms waiting for you are so comfortable you quickly forget about them! The bed was a little harder than I would have like but my husband loved the bed and had some of the best sleep in a while. The room was clean and quiet - barely heard any noise from people in the hallway or street noise. The shower was spacious and had great pressure. I would stay in that room again for sure. If I had to nitpick, I'd have liked to have a small fridge in the room - my husband and I love to bring back leftovers and snack - but that is a small nitpicky thing! Breakfast was provided with the room. It was the same choices every day (except the casserole that changed daily) and I would have liked some kind of pastry or toast option - but what was provided was tasty and delicious. Overall, this hotel was amazing and we would stay here again in a heartbeat if we return to Colonial Williamsburg.
