"Colonial Williamsburg"

After losing the Williamsburg Hospitality House as our go-to Williamsburg hotel within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg, we decided to try the Fife & Drum. We couldn't be happier with our find and are sorry we didn't know the Inn existed sooner. Being right on Prince George Street, it is a block from Merchant Square and the Colonial area. We stayed in the Richneck Room which is on the backside of the Inn and couldn't have been any quieter. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly, and the breakfast was wonderful. I look forward to staying at the Fife & Drum for all of our future visits to Williamsburg.

"We couldn't have picked a better Inn in Williamsburg!"

My husband and I have been Williamsburg 4 times and have tried different accommodations every time. The Fife and Drum is by far the best place we have stayed! Not only is it very close to Colonial Williamsburg, but it is also close to numerous restaurants. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful! The Creme Brulee French Toast casserole served on our first day was delicious. Fresh fruit, biscuits, ham, bacon, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and granola were also on the buffet. You could not have had better food!! The room was adequately large. We had a closet and small TV. The bathroom is small but very functional. The only thing that may deter anyone is that the Inn is up a flight of steps and there is no elevator. You need to carry your luggage up and down. A parking space around the corner and across the street is provided. It is actually quite close. The hosts were very helpful with information about the area and where to go and what to see.

"We LOVE this Inn!!"

We stayed at the Fife and Drum last night and it was truly wonderful. We arrived a few hours before 3 PM check in but for us, it was not a big deal. I ducked into the Inn just to let him know were in town and that we would be back later. Billy gave me our parking pass (park right behind the building ), showed me where our room was (William and Mary) and gave me some great advice on what to see and where to eat. The Blue Talon is excellent. We had a lovely lunch there. Our room was perfectly clean, the bed and linens very comfortable and breakfast was delish! That egg casserole with the spinach and mushrooms??.... I cant stop thinking about it. (YUM!!) The greatest part about the Inn really is it's location and the owners. You are within walking distance to everything and Billy is a true gentleman. We will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks again !!

"Great location and staff but breakfast and coffee need an upgrade"

This b&b is in a wonderful location near Merchant's Square. You have to enter up a steep flight of stairs so it is not for people with limited mobility. Parking is around the corner so you need to try to park across the street temporarily to unload suitcases. That being said, we had no issue with the parking being available and staff was very helpful with bringing in luggage. We left our car and walked everywhere. Room was very nice and we slept great. Bathroom was small but it worked for two nights. Owners give lots of helpful information, have coffee and tea and cookies available 24/7. Our only suggestion is they need better coffee--it is very weak and has a metallic flavor (maybe a new coffee pot?),. but there is a good coffee shop next door. Breakfast was a casserole that tasted like mushy bread with some cheese melted on it. They also had ham biscuits and fruit or granola with yogurt. It was okay but not great. There are better places in town to eat breakfast and get coffee. Overall, however, a great place to stay if you want to walk to colonial Williamsburg!
