"Nice, but hidden costs."
June, 2018
This hotel was very nice, the in-room laundry was a nice addition. Plenty of activities for the kids. They were a pushy with their time-share program. Their resort fee was more expensive than what was listed on my print out from Reserve Williamsburg.

Tip: skip the coserige table--that's where they get pushy about time shares and want all kinds of personal info. Check in was a long process.

"Beautiful resort - be prepared for the time share sales pitch"

The town homes and grounds are absolutely beautiful and picturesque. The resort itself is very clean, as were the town homes. I would absolutely stay here again without hesitation. My only complaints, though very small are: We went to this resort with 8 other families, unfortunately two of the families were not put in the same area as the rest, which was disappointing for those two girls to be driven across the resort to hang out together. I had written to the concierge desk a week or two prior to our arrival to ask about airport transportation, the email went unanswered, but they did call after our arrival to ask about the transportation, at that point I had already arranged my own transportation. I would highly recommend avoiding the "free" welcome packet, unless you are interested in standing in that line and listening to the sales pitch of a Time Share purchase. NOT INTERESTED as I booked this strictly as a hotel and not for a future purchase, etc. I understand that this is a Time Share resort, but I was not interested in the high pressure time selection.

"Large Group Family Vacation"

We were traveling with another family and had 8 people in our group. We reserved the 4 bedroom lock-off and were thrilled with our accommodations. The building had multiple units with reserved spots for each of our cars because we had booked 2 units. The resort is located within 15 min of all the major attractions in Williamsburg but is in a quiet area so it is peaceful and scenic. When we drove in there were about 30 deer grazing in the meadow running up to the property. There is a $15/night resort fee that includes use of the property and the wi-fi internet. This was detailed in my reservation confirmation but I can't recall if it's listed in their website details. In our unit the lower level had a room with 2 twin beds, a bathroom with shower, a king-bed room with en-suite (tub/shower), dining area with seating for 6, living room seating area, enclosed sunroom and deck with furniture. The kitchen was VERY well stocked and had everything we needed. The upstairs room had a queen bedroom with en-suite shower bathroom and a king bedroom with en-suite tub/shower bathroom, living area, dining area with seating for 6 and deck with furniture. The kitchen was also fully fitted. Both suites have a pull-out sofa and they were fitted with a memory foam mattress that was very comfortable. The pool complex was a favorite for everyone. They have an adult pool with benches all around for sitting and enjoying the water, and a quiet adult hot tub. There is a lap pool (early morning) that is fully open during the day for free swim. The children's pool had a bench with 3 waterfall spouts the kids could sit under and they loved that feature. There is even a fenced in toddler pool that is ankle deep for adults. There is a bar and grill at the pool with items for sale and the seating options are plentiful. We did not struggle to find chairs and umbrellas when we went. They had resort activities at the pool on certain days and they were fun and the staff were energetic. There were pool towels provided but must remain at the pool. This is a vacation resort so they do have a lengthy check-in process. It is also a large resort so sometimes the lobby is busy. The staff were very friendly but there is a time-share presentation. They ask you to schedule at certain times during the day at check-in and ask that you have at least 2 hours to spend with them. They offer an array of "gifts" for sitting through the presentation. I did not sign up for a time at check-in so they did call twice to try and set it up. You are not obligated to sit through - so if you have no interest in the gifts, the time share or losing out on half a day of your vacation - just say no thank you. They are insistent but after I spoke with them and declined any offer they had the did not try to entice us into the presentation again. We did have trouble with the internet dropping off. We have Verizon service and the 4G was also spotty so this did cause some annoyance for a few (younger) members of our party. I honestly didn't get annoyed by it - I liked the forced removal of electronics when the internet was acting up --- had us doing other things. They will call the night before check-out to go through their check-out procedure. It's very reasonable requests for collecting linens and trash. They have "departure snacks" but again try to get you to book another 4 day stay with their resort chain. I would recommend this location to friends and family with the advice to just avoid the sales pitch. I would even consider staying again at this location if we ever returned to the area. I will also look at where their other properties are and consider them if they are convenient to future vacation plans.

This resort is close to all that Williamsburg, Va. has to offer. Be prepared for a vigorous sale pitch when you first check into the resort. Also be prepared to pay an activity fee for the use of the resorts activities, even if you don't use any of them.

Super Clean, family friendly resort. Plenty of things to do, plenty of activities within a short drive. Busch Gardens - 30 min, Yorktown “Beach” - 45 min, VA Beach - 1-1/2 hours. Lots of choices for food ( we grab a 200 piece nugget tray at Chick-Fil-A and the kids pick all week) No grocery stores but one heck of a Walmart to stock frig. Enjoy the Southern Hospitality that is Virginia.
