We booked our spring break vacation through a third party and chose Greensprings due to the decent reviews. When we arrived we were amazed by the sheer size of the place. The check in took quite a while, even later in the evening. The one person they had working the counter was handling multiple phone calls and was the only person working the main desk. After checking in I was referred to the concierge to pick up my welcome package. It was during this stop at the well staffed desk that I realized that this was something more than your typical resort. I was offered the opportunity to enter into a drawing for a gift card (which according to the fine print also authorizes Diamond Resorts International to do a soft credit report pull on you), given a variety of dining coupons, and then they attempted to confirm my sales appointment. Yep. There it was. They had taken it upon themselves to schedule us for a midday 2 hour sales pitch in the middle of our vacation. When I told them we had plans and would not be able to attend they offered a few other times and even offered to extend my checkout. They offered a $75 visa gift card for our time so I figured sleeping in on our last day and getting paid while being served light refreshments would not be that bad. Of course, there was a catch to this as well. They would need to place a hold on your credit card as a "Good Faith" deposit to hold your spot in this extremely high demand sales presentation. Obviously I had no intentions on going so I politely declined this awesome opportunity. I declined several times. Apparently, they need to try to pressure guests into the sales pitch at 11 pm local time even after being told there were cranky kids waiting to get to bed in the car outside. Upon arrival to our room, we were impressed with the cleanliness, size and amenities. While we had used some of the features such as the washer and drier, well appointed kitchen, and balcony, we did not fully utilize all the resort had to offer. This was not the resorts fault. They had mini-golf, tennis, basketball, two pools, spa, gym, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volley ball court, picnic areas, and more all included with the stay. We simply did not stay around the resort for long. Do not expect the usual hotel services. Wifi is useless. There is no housekeeping unless you stay beyond 7 days. You do need to go to guest services yourself to get anything that would normally be provided on a daily basis in a full service hotel. From our unit, that meant a car ride to get to the pool or other amenities. What you get here is basically an apartment and a sales pitch. All things considered, next time the four of us will will be staying at a regular hotel suite for the trouble free convenience. That's not a knock on Greensprings but it's simply not the place for us.

"Good for kids but ...."

The kids had a great time here, lots for them to do. We stayed about 3 weeks because we were in the area house hunting and the weekly rates are better than most hotels. However, after that long, the 'customer service' ("Is there anything else I can do for you") gets REALLY, REALLY annoying. At first this might seem nice but then you actually do need help with something and NOTHING! Just some examples: When you receive mail or need to get an extra trash bag at the front desk, you have to wait in the line that people are registering in. They should have a separate line for 'already registered' guests because registration takes forever and there is nothing quick about picking up a package. (Take your ID and if it has your spouse's name on it forget it.) On checkout day, we had a late check out, as I took my first load of luggage to the car I couldn't get back into my room. Key cards wouldn't work. My children are ALONE in the room and I have no way to tell them I have to go to the office and get a new key made. I ran to the office and they said they couldn't make me a key because I didn't have my ID. Three weeks I've been there, they knew who I was. Let's just say I was a bit upset. They called security and I ran back to my building and waited for security to come and let me in. Seriously! I warned him not to say 'Is there anything else I can do for you?' We also got tired of telling them no about listening to the sales pitch. One night they called at 9pm to try and change our minds. Also, the wifi was unreliable. I won't go back, it was a bit ridiculous.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We had a Groupon deal and weren't expecting much but were very pleasantly surprised! We requested a renovated room and got one, very clean and spacious for our family of 4. We had a 2 bedroom with twin beds in one room and a King in the Master. The mini golf doesn't have anything super special about it but we had a great time. There is a small playground that we would have used had it not been muddy from a nasty storm the night before. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the bathroom/changing area was clean. My only complaints would be the noise from the upstairs neighbors...this wasn't typical walking around noise...they were partying each night so I assume it would have been fine if they had behaved. If we stay again we would request a 2nd floor room to avoid this issue. Overall we had a great time and would definitely stay again if we were headed to Williamsburg.

"Definitely Not 5 Star!!!"

We stayed here for spring break this year and from the pictures (and the 4 star rating) we thought we had found a nice resort. The staff was very nice and the exterior of the buildings and grounds were lovely, but this resort is in need of a MASSIVE overhaul. The beds were HORRIBLE...hard as rock! The 6 nights we stayed there none of us slept well. We found ants on the half-wall closest to the patio doors. The unit definitely needed a new coat of paint, new carpet and some attention paid to the electrical (we noticed sparks when we flipped one of the light switches - definite fire hazard). Buyer beware...THIS IS NOT a luxury resort (or at least the unit we got wasn't)...and we traded our week at a 5 star resort in Cabo San Lucas to stay at this "comparable" resort. Definitely NOT a fair trade :-(

We took our girls to this location as a small birthday getaway. Rooms are spacious and come with everything needed for a getaway. Location is close to shopping like Target and also groceries. Outdoor and indoor pool are beautiful.
