The hotel was very clean, the pool was great, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful! I will definitely stay there again, great value! You cannot check in early, however the lady working the desk allowed us to use the pool. She was very friendly and helpful about where to go and what to do! We will definitely come back!

"One night stay..."

Coming from Wisconsin on a school class trip for our eighth and ninth graders, three motor coaches with approximately 120 ...students with adults. Our first night stay was Williamsburg ... after an 18 hour bus trip this hotel was much needed !! I believe the hotel was just finishing up with their refurbishing…and for me I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel (was not looking forward to it after reading some of the reviews) as I said I was pleasantly surprised and had no worries anymore with this choice. We arrived at a time where the kids could still go swimming for a while..nice pool area..this was much needed for them after being cooped up for 18 hours on the bus ride. Ordered pizzas to be delivered while the kids swam. Some of us adults did a few laps around the outside of the hotel grounds ...What a gorgeous night to he out for a stroll.. Wisconsin winters can be so brutal ....what a great feeling to be outside ! Room was clean and had no problem sleeping. In the morning they had a hot buffet waiting for us…hit the spot. If in this area again I would not have a problem staying at this hotel.. Thank-you☺️for your hospitality !!

"Abismal Staff"

his review pertains to only if you are staying in the area that is dog friendly. I cannot speak to the rest of the hotel. The good things about this hotel is that the pet fee is minimal and someone on staff will take your dog out every few hours if you make the arrangements with her. Also, you can walk to the Colonial area. If you bring your dog you are in the first floor of the building which has a separate side entrance. It's convenient so that you don't have to worry about stairs or what not. Unfortunately, this floor is also where many staff members stay, and where the hotel stores a lot of it's renovation trash, so the floor looks more like a war zone than a hotel. Now on to why I will never stay at this hotel again. Because you are ostracized to the first floor if you have a dog, you are not treated like the rest of the hotel. The highlights are: our friend's room was not made up upon arrival; the showers did not drain; the emergency exit was left open 24/7 by the staff so that they could easily go outside and smoke leaving the entire floor open to whomever wanted to walk in at any hour of the day, also a fire code violation; the entire floor smelled of smoke (sometimes cigarette, sometimes other things) despite being a non-smoking hotel. We also got to hear the drunken shenanigans of the hotel staff all night as they fought with their significant others, etc. Additionally, our friends that we were traveling with had personal belongings stolen out of their room by the cleaning staff. When I reported all of these things, plus more, to the front desk, the receptionist had the gall to lie to me about the door being open and tell me that I was wrong and not take responsibility for the deplorable actions of the staff at this hotel. I called Clarion corporate to report the incidents, and she even argued with Clarion corporate representative and lied to them saying that I had not reported any of these things. I would never stay in this hotel again, and would suggest that you never do either.

"Great stay with our dog!"

They are very dog friendly. But they are all on a separate hallway, so they don't really bother other guests. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our two rooms were renovated and very nice. I think they may still me working on some rooms. We did not have a chance to use the pool, bar or restaurant, but they are nice to have on property. The best thing is that you can walk to Colonial Williamsburg and drive just straight down the road to Busch Gardens. Great location! Also, there was a fridge in the room and a microwave in the lobby.

We made a spur of the moment trip to Williamsburg and was looking for clean, comfy, reasonably priced lodging accommodations. The Clarion hotel fit our needs. There wasn't anything really exceptional about the hotel and it was a little dated, but the rooms were decent. We did switch rooms though, because there were several strands of long hair on the bed sheets, and it looked as though they hadn't been changed from the previous guests. My son enjoyed the pool, and it was nice to have an onsite restaurant. The restaurant also had karaoke on the nights we stayed, so that was also fun for the family.
