Family room is great for family of four book early for great discounts. Two family rooms shared a balcony overlooking pool. Great for summer nights. Make sure you book through the hotel . If your going to kings dominion you can walk across and not even worry about parking.

Chose to stay here despite all the bad reviews. Should've listened! Check in was easy. Got to the room and it smelled terrible! A musty smell with cigarettes. It didnt look like the room was even cleaned. Tub still had hair in it. We got there at 1 am so we just went to sleep. The next morning we packed our stuff and asked for our money back for the following night. The cigarette smell was terrible in the morning. They didnt give us a hard time at all either. They just gave us our money back and let us go. Listen to all the other terrible reviews. While Kings Dominion it literally right there, it is not worth it at all. Forgot to mention that there is a bar and 24 hour dennys all in the same building. As many may know, dennys and drunks are not the best combo. When we arrived at 1 am, there were 6 cops cars there responding to a fight at the bar. Not family friendly at all!

I arrived at the hotel on 7/29/17 @ 12:00pm. I was informed that i could not check in until 4:00pm. This information was not provided to me when I booked my reservation back in May 2017. I went back @ 4:00pm, my room was still not ready, had to wait 45 more minutes. Went back again at 5:00pm, my room still was not ready; however the receptionist was waiting for the housekeeper supervisor to enter in their computer that the room was ready. I wen back @ 5:20pm and my room was still not ready. I notice that quest that was just arriving was receiving keys to their room and my room was still not ready. Finally as 5:30pm the receptionionst did her best to find me another room based off the information the housekeeper manager was entering in to the system. I finally got a room at 5:45pm. I went to enter the room someone else was in the room sleep. I scared the women when I entered the room I apologized and immediately went back to the front desk. At this time i was very upset and tired. I informed the front desk of the issue I just encountered and they apologize and still had to find me another room. I finally got a room at 6;05pm. Entered the room their was hair in the tub the floor behind the door was dirty with bugs, I made the best of the stay since I was leaving the next morning. I was given the manager Kasha name to make a complaint. I arrived at the front desk on Sunday 7/30/17 and asked to speak with kasha, I was told she was at Motel 6 and waited to see if she would come to speak with my sister and I and she never did. they gave me a 20% discount, when I thought I shoud have received 50%. I will never stay at this hotel again

We had stayed here in the past when it was a Best Western because it is a pet friendly hotel. When I went online to book a one night stay as we were traveling through on Route 95 I learned of the new ownership. The pictures made it seem as though the place had been updated, but sadly, that was far from true. The first tip fouled have been trash on the lobby floor and the filthy areas leading to the rooms. The room itself had not been vacuumed and there was a sticky substance all over the table. The beds appeared to have fresh linens and we'd been on the road for 12 hours so we made the decision to stay. Once in the bathroom we realized there was no toilet paper or even any Kleenex in the entire room. When I called down to the front desk to ask for housekeeping I was told they were not answering and I could come down to the front desk as they had an extra roll on hand. The only reason I am giving this place a one star is because at least the girl at the front desk was pleasant. She did offer us another room but at 11 at night there was no point in switching to a room that I feared would be just as bad. There are plenty of other clean hotels along 95 in that area so do yourselves a favor and stay at one of them.

We began staying at this location several years ago when it was Best Western and have watched it go steadily downhill to the point that we will never stay here again. We have stayed here in the past because it is right across the parking lot from Kings Dominion, and when it is late at night, it is nice to be so close. After our last stay, we had decided to not stay here again because of the filth, coils coming up through the mattresses, and generally disgustingness we were met with but having prepaid via Priceline, were stuck at that time. When we saw that it had changed hands and was a different hotel, we figured it must have improved. WRONG! We booked a five-night stay for our family vacation with two rooms through Hotels.com. Check-in was at 3; however, we were told that our rooms were not ready and would not ready until after 5. By 5:30 our rooms were finally ready. We were told we were staying in "fully updated" rooms -- NOT. We walked into our room and were hit with a strange odor. This was also the case with the room next door. All we wanted to do was get to the park, so we left for Kings Dominion to start our vacation. We came back to our rooms and were hit with the reeking stench of sewage and cigarettes and the other room reeking of pot stench which only got worse as soon as you turned on the bathroom fan and then the AC unit. We were in nonsmoking rooms and watched the people next door walking out of their rooms with lit cigarettes. Then our tub backed up and would not drain and the sink would not drain. We immediately complained to the front desk who said there was nothing they could do until the morning. In the morning,we were told they would move us to new rooms but not until that evening when we returned from the park because the rooms were not cleaned. That second night they moved us to two older rooms that had mattresses with coils poking through. As a result, they moved us two more older rooms with even worse mattresses. Mind you, we had paid roughly $100.00 per room per night. These conditions were not acceptable. So they had to move us back to original rooms with the pot stench and backed up pipes until the next morning until we could be moved to different rooms in the morning. This is Day 2 and we have been in 2 different rooms so far. We tried to find another hotel, but at this point, there were no rooms available in any hotels in Doswell. Day 3: They moved us to now downstairs to our third set of rooms. Both rooms are full of flies. By the time we left for KD, we had killed all the flies only to find that they had called in reinforcements while we were gone. It didn't matter how many we killed, it was like they were multiplying. That night as my husband was taking a shower, water started pouring down from the ceiling panels above the tub from the room above. He ran out of the bathroom and called the front office, telling them what was happening Did they do anything??? NO. Water continued to come from the ceiling and just using the toilet was guaranteed to get you wet from the water above. Then the tub and sink in the other room backed up. Then our sink backed up. My husband went to the front desk again and at this point it is getting pretty late in the evening. He was told by the night clerk that water coming through the ceiling was normal because people didn't put the shower curtain in the tub and he wished they would stop booking those upstairs rooms. My husband demanded to speak to a manger and was told that no manager was on duty and there would not be a manager on duty the next day (Sunday). He said he would move us in the morning but not the other room, even though the drains were backing up. Day 4: We find out that yes there was a manager on duty and he moved us to another set of rooms that evening which were fantastic. He also told us that we should be refunded for what we had paid to date because of this ordeal. He told us to go to the front desk first thing in the morning (Monday morning) and talk to the manage on duty and that he would leave notes. Day 5: Monday morning we were met with the nastiest, rudest front desk manager who claimed that there was no pot smell in the first room we stayed in -- that it was supposedly the glue from the vinyl floors they had installed. She further claimed that there was no-one smoking pot on the property. Hmmm, well then maybe they should have told that to the group of people smoking weed at the pool Sunday night when my family was swimming! She talked to us like were complete morons, was smirking at us, talking over us, cutting me and anyone else off when we tried to speak. She got in my face and wanted to know exactly who was smoking pot, claiming they had an inspector there and found nothing. I was stunned and had to leave or I was going to blow up. My husband and son-in-law went back and requested the names of all managers and their managers, and the phone number of corporate. The manager who had verbally berated us would not come out from the back room. They were told the owner was not here yet but he would be arriving sometime before 3:00 p.m. and would call both of them before he left for the day. It is now 11:00 p.m. on Day 5 and there has been no word from the owner -- BIG SURPRISE. The final set of rooms they put us in are night and the beds are very comfortable. Are they worth $100? From one who spends half of her life traveling across the country monthly and living in a hotel, paying the same amount for Hiltons, etc. -- the rooms at the Centerstone Inn are worth maybe $39.99. They smell, they are filled with the smell of mildew and cigarettes and at times pot from the people smoking pot outside the rooms that the manager says don't exist. The management is beyond rude and act as though they are doing you a favor by letting you stay there. We watched another woman ahead of us being treated to the same lovely attitude that we were treated to with her complaints of their lack of truth in advertising and she canceled her week-long stay on the spot before she even checked in. Then we watched the manager laugh about her to her coworker with us and other customers standing there. I was stunned at the lack of professionalism and when her next words to us were "what do you want now" I knew no promises made to us would be honored and it as quite clear that they did not care. We will never, ever stay here again. We will happily pay more money to stay elsewhere and pay for parking at KD rather than spend one more dime here.
